Hello Santee!



Each month our Chamber has a Government Affairs Committee which meets to receive reports from representatives of elected officials, review potential impact on businesses, and recommend action, when needed, to the Chamber Board of Directors. Last month we were hosted at the Padre Dam Municipal Water District’s customer service building where we were treated to an overview of the East County Advanced Water Purification Program, then able to take an onsite tour of the current construction. The East County Advanced Water Purification Program will create a new, local, sustainable and drought-proof drinking water supply by using state-of-the-art technology to purify recycled water. This will produce up to 30 percent of the region's drinking water. Work for the entire project is expected to be complete in late 2025 with purified water production to begin in 2026.
