How to Host A Ribbon Cutting
A Ribbon Cutting is a great way to kick off your Chamber Membership or celebrate a special occasion for your business. Ribbon Cuttings and Groundbreaking Ceremonies provide an avenue to market your company to the community you serve.
Santee Chamber Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide a Facebook event, adding you as a co-host
- Send an invitation to all Chamber Ambassadors & Board Members
- Invite local elected officials to join the celebration and present certificates
- Share event information through e-blast & social media
- Provide ceremonial scissors & ribbon during the event and assist and/or orchestrate schedule of events for the ceremony
- Publish photos of the event on the Chamber’s social media and possibly in an issue of The Santee Magazine
Business Roles & Responsibilities:
- Contact the Chamber at least 3 weeks before the preferred date and time to book Ribbon Cutting.
- Spread the word about your ribbon cutting to your current and potential customers, clients, vendors, friends, family, colleagues, etc.
- Decide which representative(s) will cut the ribbon and address the attendees.
- Notify the media.
- Supply refreshments to help create a welcoming environment (optional).
- Provide photographer.
- Don’t miss the opportunity to hand out coupons or marketing materials (Some businesses raffle items to gather business cards as leads)
The Chamber is NOT able to assist with Ribbon Cuttings on the weekend or after 5PM.
The Ribbon Cutting is included with Santee Chamber memberships for no additional charge.
Not a member? Chamber staff will happily provide the ceremony for a fee of $250.
