• Santee Chamber Weekly Update 08NOV24

  • Hello Santee!

Yesterday we hosted our 6th annual (sellout) Veterans Appreciation Golf Tournament at Carlton Oaks - what a day. Our two staffers (Jennae Gonzalez and Andie Reyes) along with some key volunteers (Mike Aiken, Max Wiltz, Melissa Dombo and Pam White to name a few) put together such a special day honoring our past service members along with some outstanding veteran owned businesses. This year we proudly added a Veterans Resource Expo to our day for golfers to experience before tee-off and for the public to come gain access to veteran programs pertaining to healthcare, education, housing, financial and legal services and more from over a a dozen veteran service organizations and community partners. With one in ten adults in Santee representing our veteran community, we look forward to expanding our reach into the ways we can continue to connect and support one another. Thank you to all our incredible sponsors who helped make yesterday possible; we are rolling into this holiday weekend with so much pride and respect for the community where those have served hold such a special place.

As a reminder, the Santee Veterans Memorial Bridge and Monument is a great place to pay your respects to those who have served. The Santee Chamber was the proud fiscal agent of this project back in 2021 and we are thankful to the City of Santee for their maintenance of this permanent place of recognition in our town. Their addition of the Hometown Heroes Banner Program which has just added a new round of veterans, including my personal favorite, my father: Navy Veteran, Thomas J Charpentier.
