• Santee Chamber Weekly Update 5JUN25

  • Hello Santee!

This past Friday, I had the privilege of representing the Chamber at the ribbon-cutting ceremony for The Stand—a new “American Classics Redefined” restaurant now open in Santee. I ordered their falafel wrap and it was fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and highly recommended. I went back for 2nds on Tuesday!

Grand Openings, complete with big scissors and a bright ribbon, are more than just a ceremony—they’re a meaningful way to celebrate the milestones and dedication behind every small business. It was a joy to welcome The Stand to town and share in this special moment.

I also had the pleasure of meeting the incredible leadership team behind it all: Founder and CEO Murray Wishengrad, Executive Vice President Jason Wishengrad, Vice President Zachary Wishengrad, and Chairman Andy Jhawar, along with his daughter Danica Jhawar, who is also a partner in the business.

To make their opening even more impactful, The Stand is hosting a fundraiser through June 8th, where 25% of sales will benefit the Santee Community Foundation. It’s a delicious way to support both a new local favorite and a great cause. You can find more details here.

Be sure to stop by, say hello to the General Manager Jacie Scering, show your support, and help us give a warm welcome to one of Santee’s newest community-minded restaurants!
