• Santee Chamber Weekly Update 26JUL24

  • Hello Santee!

I was a little embarrassed to say, that until recently, I had never attended the Santee Salutes event held by the City each Fourth of July. For me, this long-overdue tradition was such a treat, as my coworker and I were hosted in a special area for guests of the City. It was a place where Heather Jones (wife of our district Senator, Brian Jones) made you somehow feel as if you were at a family backyard party and not a public event with thousands of people. She curated a space for friends to gather and members of our armed forces to come together and really celebrate the holiday as one.

The special events team from the city gave their regular level of high-impact community offerings with fun for everyone. They had a fun zone with our favorite Santee Street Fair ride vendor, about a dozen food and beverage concessionnaires, live entertainment on stage, and of course, a firework display for the entire town to capture the essence of Independence Day (with some help from community partners Waste Management). Thanks to everyone who contributed towards the success of the event and those who make sacrifices everyday to preserve our freedoms.
