Hello Santee!

Many of you have heard of redevelopment plans for our home golf course, Carlton Oaks. This course was established back in the 60s and even hosted the NCAA Western Region Finals and the NCAA Championship in 1974. Last month, the city held a Public Scoping Meeting. This is designed to provide an opportunity for agency staff and interested members of the public to submit written comments on the scope of the environmental issues analyzed in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR). The public scoping meeting was held on June 25, at Santee City Hall. During the hour+ meeting the EIR was briefly discussed along with the proposed project location and adjacent land uses, an overview of the project description, a review of requested entitlements and potential environmental effect areas, and the comment period was set for the mandatory 30 days on any concerns regarding the scope. The comment period has since ended and we look forward to the next steps for the project.
