Santee Chamber Weekly Update 16JAN25
-
Hello Santee!
Last night you all really showed up for a family that’s been part of our community for years. I want to personally thank the owners of Chick-fil-A for hosting a fundraiser for the Jokerst family. For those of you who don’t know them, Travis and Tiffany and their three children are all amazing people. I’ve had the privilege of our daughters becoming friends through Santee Ravens cheer, allowing us to spend many weekends together and travel across the country to root on our kids, and have Tiffany educate my son at West Hills High School, where she is known for being a 2022 California Teacher of the Year.
Their youngest son, Jack, has been fighting a rare bone cancer since October and recently underwent chemotherapy and a partial leg amputation. The fundraiser last night will help their family with a prosthetic to get him back to being his usual self and playing soccer with friends again. This brave warrior (who is just 8 years old) still has more chemo to complete along with so much more as he adjusts to the changes ahead. Thank you, Zach and Gina, for allowing your restaurant to be a catalyst for hope when we all need a little help and thank you, Santee, for loving your neighbors so fiercely and fighting alongside the Jokerst family.
For those who missed out at Chick-fil-A, feel free to donate HERE.
