Hello Santee!

Last week I was able to attend an annual conference held by the Western Association of Chamber Executives. This is one of my favorite “getaways” of the year where I get to connect with people from all around the country who do exactly what I do. These people are my peers, my mentors, my inspiration, and some of my best friends. I love taking classes and I’m always grateful when I am able to teach as well, this year hosting a class with one of my favorite Southern California counterparts in Dana Point, Vickie McMurchie, as we shared insight on keeping chamber events mission driven. Before attending, I submitted our chamber for several communication awards. I’m happy to announce that in the small chamber category, we won for best website. I want to give a quick thanks to my newest staff member, Andie Reyes, who has helped me get a few of my ideas online (literally) as we still continue to evolve and build out more and more on our page. We have so much coming up in the next few months here, I’m excited to enter our own event season, already knowing what we do is driving our chamber’s mission through and through.
