• Santee Chamber Weekly Update 11JUL24

  • Hello Santee!

Last month, Councilmember Laura Koval hosted a presentation at City Hall. Working with elected officials has always been a Chamber priority, so when she reached out to the Chamber to collaborate, it was an easy “yes” on our end. Connecting people, especially businesses, to government is a goal of ours for many reasons. This bridge can allow for our business community to advocate for our needs and interests and potentially influence policy when the decision-making process is happening. This is also why we believe in having business-friendly councilmembers on the dais and take pride in our council’s history of involvement with our organization. So again, when the Chamber was asked to be one of the agencies welcomed to have an outreach table, myself and a staff member were proud to acknowledge the importance of promoting a favorable business environment.

Councilmember Koval provided an overview of topics covering her role for the City including fiscal responsibility, public safety, economic development, and more, as she opened the floor to any questions after her main presentation. Access to the event was free to attend in-person (and thank you to Cane’s for providing free food and beverages) and was also live streamed on Facebook and SanteeTV. For those who live in District 3 and would like to view it, it plays again regularly on SanteeTV and can be found by searhig “Santee District 3 Town Hall” . For those unsure of which district you live or work in, or who your designated Councilmember is, feel free to use the interactive map and search your address. A big thanks to Councilmember Koval for including the Chamber, and for her open candor and accessibility to our public.
