Dear GUHSD Community,
Recently, the District's plan to address our long-term challenges and ensure our students’ success has attracted some media attention.
Unfortunately, along with the coverage, there’s been a lot of misinformation circulating. On top of that, some disruptive behavior at recent Board meetings has tried to shut down differing views. This doesn’t reflect the values of tolerance, openness, and respect that we want to teach our students, and it gets in the way of the important conversations we need to have about the future of our schools.
Our community deserves better. These are complicated issues, and the decisions that need to be made aren’t easy. You deserve to hear more than oversimplified slogans and misleading claims.
That’s why I’m sharing this page with you so that you can better understand the District’s plan. Over the next few weeks, we’ll send more messages that address specific concerns and answer questions from the community.
