Tucked into the heart of East County, Sunny Grove Brewing has quickly emerged as a vibrant hub for craft beer lovers in Santee. Founded by husband-and-wife duo Scott and Tessa Christian, the brewery brings a refreshing blend of creativity, community spirit, and laid-back charm to the local beer scene.

Sunny Grove found its true home after repurposing the former Pacific Islander Beer Co. space. The Christians transformed the 4,000-square-foot facility into a sleek, inviting destination complete with a mezzanine lounge, turf-lined patio, and a stunning mural of hop-covered palm trees designed by Pandr Art Studio.

But it’s not just the aesthetics that are turning heads. From their crisp blonde ale to the award-winning Double Trouble IPA, Sunny Grove is making waves with a rotating tap list rooted in West Coast styles and seasonal lagers. Their beers have already claimed podium finishes at the 2025 San Diego Beer News Awards. No small feat for a brewery barely out of its first year.

What truly sets Sunny Grove apart, though, is its community-first approach. Whether they’re sponsoring local sports teams, hosting fundraisers, or personally pouring pints from behind the bar, Scott and Tessa have made it clear: this isn’t just a business, it’s a gathering place.
