Hello Santee!
On Friday, October 24th the City of Santee officially opened Interim Fire Station 20 at 9534 Via Zapador Way, within the Santee Operations Yard. This is the first new fire station built in the city since 1964 and was established to address increasing service demands while planning begins for a permanent facility.
During the ribbon-cutting event, city officials and Fire Chief Harley Wallace spoke about the milestone. Chief Wallace expressed his enthusiasm for launching Santee’s third fire station, noting that residents in the city’s southwestern area are already experiencing quicker response times. The new station is staffed with both firefighters and paramedics, currently operating a Type 1 fire engine, with a paramedic ambulance soon to be stationed at the new location.
