Santee Chamber Weekly Update 03AUG23

Hello Santee! 

I feel as though I catch myself bragging often about our community partners and leaders, so in true Kristen-fashion, I’ll continue that trend. I wanted to thank Cox Communications for hosting me and several guests at a Padres game last week. We have a dedicated representative (hey Allen Young!) who serves on our Government Affairs Committee and who regularly offers their support and insight for telecommunications solutions for our businesses and community at large. Of course, this leads to my knowledge of the Cox Communications team understanding and recognizing the value of relationships with elected officials, so it was my pleasure to allow Cox’s invitation to extend to one of our City Council Members, Rob McNelis. Rob has had longtime Chamber involvement from membership, to serving on our Board of Directors, and to even being one of the founding committee members of the team who created our annual Santee Street Fair. Rob’s business-friendly attitude compliments the rest of our council right now as those who serve all highly value the exchange of commerce, need for workforce talent and job creation, and understand the important role of economic development in our region. Thank you to Cox Communications for allowing us to continue growing our relationship with the City in such a fun environment!
