    Two-Decade HR Pro Earns District's Top Classified Honor Personnel Specialist Michelle King is GUHSD's Classified Employee of the Year  

    EL CAJON –  Grossmont Union High School District (GUHSD) Personnel Specialist Michelle King has been named GUHSD's Classified Employee of the Year. The announcement comes as Classified school employees are celebrated throughout California during Classified School Employee Week. “Michelle King is widely-known for her thorough and reliable knowledge of GUHSD Human Resources systems, policies, and practices, but what really makes Michelle special is the deep care she demonstrates for every employee at every level of our organization," said GUHSD Superintendent Theresa Kemper. "As we celebrate the vital work that all of our Classified employees do toward building our students' best future, it's an honor to recognize Michelle for her exemplary service to our school community," Kemper added. A member of GUHSD's Human Resources team for 21 years, King currently serves as a Personnel Specialist. Her responsibilities include personnel records, salary schedules, calendars, data analysis, and position control. In addition to her knowledge of Human Resources, Fiscal, and Payroll procedures, King has been recognized for her leadership and expertise during multiple District and County Office of Education transitions to better management software.  "Michelle King is an irreplaceable gem," said GUHSD Human Resources Director Dr. Randy Montesanto. "She is the consummate listener and problem solver, and she ensures that the best interests of every employee are served," Montesanto added. King earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Prairie View A&M University in Texas and has nearly completed her work toward a Masters of Business Administration. California Classified School Employee Week runs from May 15-21, 2022.
