Santee Chamber Weekly Update 28AUG20
Hello Santee!A little over three years ago, there was a young lady in town who had recently won the title of Miss Santee. She had worked HARD for this title, competing year after year and never giving up. She took the critiques received and chose to improve herself, constantly finding strength in the ability to grow. She was working two part-time jobs at the time with other Chamber members... early mornings at GTM stocking shelves and afternoons with the Santee School District in the Project Safe program. She was also going to school full time at Grossmont and volunteering countless hours in her beloved role as MIss Santee - I mean, this girl was amazing! So naturally, I wanted to hire her... and that I did.
Hiring Jennae and watching her transformation from young lady into young professional has been a personal pleasure of mine. She is SMART, KIND, CONSIDERATE, INTUITIVE, RESPONSIBLE, and most of all, DRIVEN. She was just starting to date a young man when she began working at the Chamber. Since then she has transferred from Grossmont, obtained a degree from SDSU, balanced work life at the Chamber, weekend part-time jobs, family life with her parents and brother and a long distance relationship with her boyfriend! After three years of dating, he was wise enough to propose to her last night and our team couldn't be happier for her next adventure in life. Congratulations to Jennae Gonzalez, although this means your time at the Chamber will be ending sooner than we'd like, we are thrilled to watch you become the young woman so many of us hope our daughters become.
(Special thanks to Pacific Islander Beer Company for hosting a surprise congratulations party for her last night and another thanks to her mother Nydia Gonzalez for including me!)
