Santee Chamber Weekly Update 25JUN20
Hello Santee! This week my husband and I were able to get a late jump on the bandwagon of home improvement projects during quarantine. As we watch some of our beloved businesses start coming back to life, it felt good to hire some local help and play a small role in keeping our money circulating through Santee. We were able to take advantage of my husband’s construction skills and move around dirt on our property to prepare for a new retaining wall after we magically both agreed to the type of block we wanted to order from RCP. We were also interested in reinforcing the garage to give it more structural support for storage. We happily brought in TDT Construction for an afternoon of woodworking. It was a delight to see Dustin Trotter arrive at our home with his son, ready to tag-team something Dustin can probably do in his sleep. This isn’t the first time using Dustin, and also not the first time we’ve noticed he runs a true family business. Often times his father-in-law has been at or home or in the Chamber office, pitching in a working tirelessly. Among all the chaos and unknowns in our world right now, it felt good to work with two companies the past few days who do so much more than just house their businesses in town. It reiterates why Santee is a good place to live and a great place for business. We support each other and there’s little difference when using the words “neighbors” and “friends”. As we hope to see more and more businesses bounce back in Santee, we ask that you reach out and tell us your stories, your struggles, your triumphs and let us know how we can help and continue to support you in any way.
