I am so blessed to be surrounded by good people who love Santee. Last week I joined Todd Tolson of Riverview Community Church for lunch (at 52 East Eatery....mmmmm) and learned what all the hype was about! This guy is the real deal... loves our town, helps his neighbors, slays his personal goals, and gives more than what seems humanly possible. He sat across from me, letting his lunch grow cold, as he took in my stories to get to know me better. It was a gesture that I appreciated so much and two hours later, we decided to get back to work! I encourage all of you to find someone you can learn from and invite them to sit down for some real facetime and gain something from breaking bread together.
Last Friday we also had the pleasure of co-hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Town Center Parkway. Kristopher Shannon opened the doors to his Edward Jones' office and it was obvious to see, he has plans to stay a while! Kris started working in our town two years ago, building up to this moment of having his own office in Santee. Pictured below with Kris, his wife Shannon and their son Bodhi (who let me hold him!!)...I looked around on Friday and he had filled the building with his own dream team of supporters. From family and friends, to colleagues and his fellow Rotarians, and even veterans he had served with, there was enough love in the room to fill up more than just a shiny new office. We are so pleased to have been part of his special day and look forward to more from Kris (as he also joined our Board of Directors this year!).
I hope to see you all around town soon, have a great week!
