Another week closer to the election and it was my pleasure to be able to spend some time this week with someone who is already in a prominent role for our community, Senator Brian Jones. He was kind enough to join us this week at our Government Affairs committee meeting, giving us a personal update on his accomplishments throughout the legislative session and accessibility to our committee for those who had any questions or concerns regarding our district. He then reached out a second time this week to introduce me to a business in town which will soon become a member of our chamber. The meeting was exciting, and lightning and productive. I love meeting new business owners in town and this was no exception! After the meeting he was kind enough to walk across the street with me where we had parked. Another local business owner was just a few doors down who proudly displays the certificates in his office received from Senator Jones time as Assemblyman. When I mentioned this business owner would be delighted to meet him, he of course obliged and said he was happy to pop in. I’m certainly glad he did. Tim Staump, owner of Staump Music School, was delighted to give him a brief tour and talk a little bit about what he does in town and has been doing for over a decade. I’ve known him for several years as he’s been an active member with our chamber served on our board of directors and has been chairman of our annual Street Fair in May several times. I just recently started using his services on a more regular basis as our daughter has been taking a drum lessons and can’t quite seem to get enough! I think a new drum set will be on her wish list this Christmas and we are so proud of all she’s been learning through the music school. A huge thanks to both of these men for being vital parts of our community and making my week that much better.
