  • Santee Chamber Weekly Update 21AUG20

  • Hello Santee!
How are you all surviving this heatwave? With SDG&E asking for us toe cut down usage in hopes to avoid rolling blackouts, I have to quickly say "THANK YOU" to those who were able to conserve. As many of us are still working from home and now have children by our sides in their newly formatted distance learning, it's not easy (and I'm sure not preferred) but as I've seen, heard and said about a thousand times by now, "We are all in this together".
On another note, I've been spending a lot of time with my board discussing and developing new ideas for our Chamber. Although I wish I could share it all now, I sometimes forget that in addition to being amazing business leaders, my board of directors is also full of amazing humans. Sarah Wood and I met several years ago and although we could have ran in the same social circles once upon a time, we officially met through the Chamber. She quickly stood out to me as someone who's deep roots in Santee made her care about a lot. Although her hometown pride runs deep, there is so much more than that to her. During her busiest time of the year for her company Allegiance Heating & Air Conditioning, I was happy to learn about her contributions to help organize and promote a walk in Santee tomorrow for a global issue we all face, the need for change regarding child exploitation and human trafficking. We are all faced with so many concerns right now and selfishly must succumb to the needs we all have for survival (and rightfully so). But if you can spare some time, I urge you to join us tomorrow at 10am in front of Target to be a part of something that reaches every corner of the world.
