Hello Santee!
The end of the school year is upon us and with that comes many celebrations. I was so grateful to be invited back to one for the Santee School District. Each year, they honor the top performing 8th graders from their campuses in the Academic Achievement Awards ceremony. Each school honors two 8th grade students and there are special competitions among them for areas in writing, speech and math. But the highest honor goes to their overall winner of the year which was bestowed upon student Sarah Mousa of Cajon Park.
It was my honor to give Sarah a scholarship from the Chamber of Commerce to kickstart her savings for any post-high school education. The Mayor read a proclamation from the City of Santee naming May 18th “Sarah Mousa Day” and her school will have the privilege of being the campus to house the district trophy for academic achievement, now with her name adorned upon it along with many others accumulated over the years. Congratulations to Sarah and her incredible proud parents!
