    Hello Santee!
This past Saturday evening it seemed like we saw every adult in town at the annual Santee Bluegrass Festival. The night went by in a flash as a few good conversations can take up a chunk of the evening which traditionally flies by regardless. I think this was the year where I spoke to the least amount of people, ate only two samples of food provided and took only one picture while there! Luckily it was before the night became too hectic and I grabbed a quick selfie with my staff, Jennae and Sydnee. They were there with radiant smiles and warm attitudes to greet people of our community all night long. It's a pleasure of ours to have the Santee Chamber donate staff time towards events that raise funds which benefit the Santee Teen Center, park improvement projects, and give towards the Recreation Scholarship Program for those needing financial assistance to take part in City recreation programs. If you attended, donated or volunteered as well: thank you for investing in our town. Congratulations to SPARC and the City's Special Events team for another amazing contribution to Santee.

Secondly, I wanted to mention, we are a day early on our Weekly Update. I wanted to reach out to the community this morning in lieu of tomorrow so I can encourage interested folks to attend the special City Council Meeting this evening if they so desired. I wanted to give a few quick spotlights on some areas of interest:
Agenda Item 4 - Proposed Conditional Use Permit for 122-guest room WoodSpring Suites Hotel to be located at 8801 Mission Gorge Road.
Agenda Item 5 - Workshop to discuss CCA program which allows governments to procure power from alternative energy suppliers.
Agenda Item 6 - Results of research efforts made by North Star Strategies on behalf of the City's branding effort.

Full Agenda Packet is available on the City's website HERE. (Beware, it's 195 pages!) Hope to see some of you there.
