  • Santee Chamber Weekly Update 14AUG20

  • Hello Santee!
It's Friday and today is going to be another sunny Santee day - and by that, I mean hot! With many of you, our office has transitioned towards a work-from-home environment during this pandemic. Our office staff has had a less traditional office environment and like many people right now, yearn for some normalcy that we fear may never come back. One of our staff's favorite things to do is, you guessed it, grab coffee together! We may not be able to invite members into The Coffee Corner like we used to, but we know we will get there again eventually. It seems odd to be talking about this virus and the effects still, as I think none of us imagined the longevity in which it has lasted. For now, we practice patience, wear our masks, and take things one day at a time since our crystal balls seem to be missing.

Back in March when things started to really get serious, we had to postpone our Santee Heroes Luncheon, an event we had only created the year before when we realized our Awards NIght was so robust that we could afford to offer two seperate celebrations for businesses and community honorees. I am pleased to announce that we will FINALLY celebrate these heroes, just in a much different capacity than previously planned for. We will have a limited "Lunch on the Lawn" dining experience in accordance with County health regulations and put in place a virtual offering for those interested in celebrating with us. I look forward to putting together the final details to share with you all next week and look forward to having some positive showcasing of those who impact our community greatly on September 25th.
