    Hello Santee!
Summer is here! Well, at least in our house with both Grossmont Union High School District and the Santee School District now both done with their 2018-2019 school year. This is such an exciting time of year. I love watching families around town jumping into new activities, less dictated by their normal schedules. Santee is full of these opportunities… I thought I would take a moment and highlight just a few to kick off this week...

The City of Santee does an amazing job continually providing ways to enhance our quality-of-life. I’ve said it many times over, but I absolutely love the summer concert series hosted on Thursday evenings. I’m ecstatic to have these perfect summer nights to look forward to, although I fear I might miss out on some due to conflicts with our son’s water polo schedule - a trade off well worth it for any parent. These concerts begin tonight with James Kruk and The Big Boss Men and go through August 22nd. Make sure to mark your calendars for as many as possible, and be sure to go visit our friend Dean at the Riverwalk Grill at the park, who is sure to be serving hot treats and cold beers all night.

Also be sure to check out the local YMCA. The Cameron Family branch located at Town Center Community Park is such a beautiful facility and just got even better! Their official grand re-opening takes place this Saturday to unveil their newly remodeled fitness center. Be sure to stop by sometime between 8 AM and 2 PM to join them for giveaways, demonstrations and more. Check out their Facebook event here for more details.

And finally, sometimes it seems like the whole world has become beer connoisseurs. At least San Diego has. Santee has many amazing choices when it comes to local breweries and I know we are all still holding our breath for Karl Strauss to break ground. I’m also personally looking forward toCreative Creature taking over the space where council brewing used to reside. In the meantime, be sure to check out all the summer happenings taking place at Pacific Islander Brewing, Groundswell and BNS. My husband and I made our way over to BNS this Tuesday as he proved to get his money's worth out of the unlimited taco wristband you can purchase for just $12! I on the other hand, took the opportunity to say hello to friend and Chamber member, Scott Bolle of Bolle Electric and learned he often uses these places to conduct business on a regular basis. I love how much Santee has to provide for business, friends and family not just during the summer time, but all your long. I hope to see you all around town soon!
