On Tuesday the Santee Chamber partnered with 7 other local organizations to provide an East County Economic Crimes Forum at no cost to members of the public and regional businesses. We were happy to share ideas and resources as folks from all walks of like attended to learn about how scams and cyber-crime impact our businesses and communities at this first-ever event. At the event, you were able to learn about how to protect yourself from becoming a victim of fraud and cyber crimes, as DA staff member Ryan Karkenny lead the conversation for our group. We later were able to hear from District Attorney Summer Stephen who has devoted her life to protecting children and families and providing justice to the voiceless and most vulnerable. She is a national leader in the fight against sexual exploitation and human trafficking, who has served as a Deputy District Attorney in San Diego County for 28 years. During this time, she combined extensive courtroom experience with over 15 years of management and leadership experience. It was quite informative and we are looking forward to partnering again in the future to make this an annual re occurrence!
A huge thanks to the following groups for their partnership and camaraderie on this event:
