  • Santee Chamber Weekly Update 12MAR20

  • Hello Santee!
This week has brought some rain as we draw in toward the end of our winter – please remain safe and patient on the roads as well all remember how to drive in the drizzle 😊 These past few days have given me plenty of opportunities to engage with my children at their schools and be thankful that these districts are also active participants in our business community as members of the Santee Chamber. PACK Day at West Hills was last Friday (thank you for that opportunity GUHSD) where I was able to shadow my son in each of his classes during a minimum day on campus - this has quickly become one of my favorite West Hills offerings. Then last night we celebrated the PTSA groups from the Santee School District at the annual Founder’s Day Dinner where I (as Rio Seco PTSA President) was able to recognize a few key volunteers that give so much back to our Roadrunner families.
Additionally, over the weekend I was in Temecula for a quick trip away with some friends. I took advantage of the opportunity of being so close to some neighboring chambers with whom I’ve developed professional relationships with. I went to the Murrieta/Wildomar Chamber first and went from there out to lunch with part of their staff including a recent WACE Academy graduate and fellow WACE Conference Committee member. It felt like I was part of their chamber family as they were instantly recognized at the restaurant and sat more as friends in someone’s house than as patrons in a restaurant. Afterwards I worked my way into Temecula where I visited with friend Brooke Nunn (pictured). Brooke was one of the first friends I made when starting my professional development courses and has been nothing but amazing to me since. Her teammates at their chamber welcomed me in and toured me around, happy for a late Friday visit. Their level of professionalism and poise was in every square-inch of their building and the staff protects that integrity with every step they take. I look forward to continuing friendships like these where I can learn and grow from people in my industry as I hope to always be making improvements to our own organization, for the betterment of our community.
