I'm curious to know how many of you out there used to commute from Santee into other parts of the county, and are now able to telecommute. As we reach the one year mark of this pandemic, I know several people who have transitioned into a new full-time routine from the comfort of their own home, myself included. As the Chamber did our part to slow the spread and not have staff in a place considered "non-essential" (as much as I beg to differ), we realized quickly that our commercial space wasn't quite as necessary as we may have once believed.
Such is life, I have found that there are two sides to each coin: somedays, honestly, my home office doesn't seem to cut it! Maybe I've had too many years of relying on modern office technology or maybe I just miss people, but I find myself asking to work out of members' offices on occasion and I am so thankful they oblige. A huge thanks to Farmers Insurance in Santee; Mike & Marla Clinkenbeard and their amazing staff make me so comfortable in their workspace, I may just start answering the phones or take their office mascot (Pickle the Pug) on a walk!
