    Hello Santee,
A few weeks ago I was invited to be part of a three-person panel for Office Depot managers from all around San Diego County. Local Store Manager for the Santee Office Depot, John Torrevillas, invited me to join their team-building for the afternoon down at Liberty Station and I had no clue what I was in for! I sat down for lunch then was quickly introduced to a group of people who I found genuinely love the company they work for and who were eager to learn how to make the customer experience better all-around. After sharing my personal experiences with the group, I was asked several qualifying questions from the room… each question was coming from a real place of wanting to grow and take their well-known name and turn it into your neighborhood go-to place with the same ease and care as a 1957 mom-and-pop shop. It was honestly something I didn’t expect. This brand of Office Depot seems so large, it is almost abstract. And here I sat, with a group of dedicated individuals who want to take that good reputation and build a special experience for every customer.
Office Depot has become so much more than your paper and supply shop. They have fully transitioned into an all-encompassing office solutions store. Until recently, I had no idea how much they had to offer and even worse, had no idea how much they care. After spending time with their leadership team, I’ve realized how much their employees love their job and helping people. They knew straightaway that the person who buys a pair of scissors and the person who places a thousand dollar online order each month are both unique, both special and ALWAYS worth their best customer service.
After my session with their team, I was gifted not only a huge basket from them (picture below), but also a surprise treat when John stopped by the next day with cupcakes for MY team! I’d like to extend the invite now to you all to…. an event in their store that was tailored just for Chamber contacts. On April 23rd the Santee Office Depot is hosting coffee and light breakfast as they invite you in to learn more about who they are, what they do and most importantly how they can HELP YOU! I hope to see many of you there as we continue to become better and better versions of ourselves personally and in our business lives.
