  • Santee Chamber Weekly Update 10APR20

  • Hello Santee!
Another week has come and gone with orders to “shelter in place” as we are all trying to find our new normal. The Santee Chamber staff is happy to announce we are all still working (remotely) and available, and honestly looking forward to connecting with you all in hopes to find more ways to provide resources and guidance during these times. I know it has been quite the challenge for businesses and we feel for you all… many of you are not just members/clients, but our mentors, friends and we are customers to you as well. We hurt seeing any business struggle but have hope for us coming out stronger in the end because we’ve found ways to band together and remain a community full of care.
This time has been interesting to say the least. We have seen some of the biggest impacts on our environment in decades. We’ve seen the reinvention of business models, with creativity sprouting from every angle. We’ve seen neighbors acting with kindness, and strangers giving grace to one another. And mostly, we’ve seen families reconnecting at the root of what brought them together in the first place: love. At the risk of sounding like a child of parents raised in the 60s (which I am), I found quick comfort in some lyrics from a well known song by The Byrds:
To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven
A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones
A time to gather stones together
With that being said, please help us help you use this time for whatever season this is for you… if you are a current member and need help ask by contacting anyone on our staff. If you are a current member who has an essential business that has remained open during this time, please fill out this quick FORM so we can compile a list to share with other members and our community at large. We are better together.
