Santee Chamber Weekly Update 09JUL20
Hello Santee!Another week has gone by and we are watching some of the businesses get local setbacks again. On Monday, the County of San Diego entered the states watchlist and they soon after announced new regulations to be in effect for three weeks minimum which heavily impact the restaurant and family entertainment business industries. These industries have already been hit so hard, it’s difficult to see them enter a new phase of struggling. As always, I highly suggest everyone supporting them the best way possible. Support the restaurants offering outdoor dining and take out options, purchase gift cards for use at a later time for the family entertainment businesses... keep shopping locally just as we’ve been doing as often as possible. This week our house welcomed a large delivery from RCP Block and Brick for materials needed to construct a wall in our backyard. I realize it is a luxury and a privilege to be able to keep spending money during a time so difficult, but it always feels good to put dollars back in members’ pockets. With that being said, those of you around us who are continued to be deeply impacted by the coronavirus in this pandemic in which we are facing, the County of San Diego has also just released news on a grant program stimulus package available for small businesses and nonprofits. If you are a member of our chamber, you may have already seen this through social media or the email sent out from our staff yesterday. However for those of you in and around our community, I still urge you to apply. We all need to help each other through this and as of right now, there’s no end in sight. Maybe things will just be different forever and our old way of life is forever gone. I’m really not sure, my crystal ball doesn’t exist… All I know is what I can do right now and that is to help where I am able to. Please apply if you need assistance, and if you are able to support local business, please continue to do so in any way possible.
