These past few weeks have been BUSY for us. With two larger events back-to-back, I have been running myself ragged. This is not a complaint; I love staying busy. With work, volunteer roles and my family life all pulling me in different directions, it makes sense that many people ask me, “How do you do it all?” My answer is simple, because I have an amazing support system. From my family, to my neighbors, to my PTSA Board at Rio Seco, to my Board of Directors at the Chamber… I am constantly shown that I am important, loved and supported in so many ways. This support is necessary to be successful and I try diligently to remain thankful for those who are in my very large, inner circle.
The people pictured with me are a small part of that system, each as important as the next. Adam (Alison Construction) and Lauren (Mission Realty Group) are friends I’ve had since high school but people who have come back into my life in our adulthood who have been more than just buddies. As colleagues, they understand the role a Chamber plays in our community and show up for me, knowing it will ultimately better Santee as a whole. There are so many of these people who surround me, I don’t know how I can tag them all…. Really. The Chamber hosted a Fall Fair last Saturday and managed to put that event together in roughly five weeks whereas our spring Street Fair takes about five months. Today, I am sitting at Carlton Oaks as we host a sold out golf tournament, appreciating local vets and honoring them with a day on the greens. I am so proud of the work I am able to do… successes, failures, everything in between – because I know I have a team who is always willing to go the distance with me.
