Santee Chamber Weekly Update 08AUG19
Hello Santee!Last Tuesday was such a great day. I started out my morning at City Hall to participate in a project working group for the Santee Active Plan. Some may not have heard about this yet as it is in the early phases but, the City of Santee is developing a Comprehensive Active Transportation Strategy, which will identify safe, healthy, and effective ways for residents, visitors, and employees to access destinations within the City on foot, on bicycles, and using transit. The Santee Chamber was identified as a stakeholder in the effort, and invited to be a part of their Project Working Group. This group is in place to help guide the technical process, review deliverables, and provide feedback to the City team as they develop projects and programs for inclusion in the plan over the next year. I’m very proud to be part of this group and excited to partake in planning meetings where we actually GET THINGS DONE!After the meeting, I was invited to join the new Regional Public Affairs Manager from SDG&E, Joe Bitton. He invited community partners to join him for an afternoon of fun and networking at the Padres game. It’s always so helpful as a chamber professional to network with other chamber professionals! Something I’ll talk more about next week... until then, shop Santee!
