Hello Santee!
Last week Jennae (our Office Manager) and I took a Friday field trip to the San Diego County Fair. I had to retype that as I first wrote “Del Mar Fair” – old habits die hard. This is an annual pilgrimage the Chamber makes that originated from Community Days the fair used to host where Chambers of Commerce would come and set up booths at the pavilion on the infield area. It then merged into a hosted luncheon where they would invite local chambers to come in and hear all about how this fair is put together, the way they curated space for their theme, and the local connections they kept in place to root the county into their longstanding event.
This year, we were happy to see their fair back to its old self, but simply went as spectators looking for ideas and inspiration for our own little fair – the Santee Street Fair. Jennae and I had a blast walking around and soaking up the sights and smells of the family fun, discussing ways we can help revitalize our own event and continue to see it grow. If you love the fair (in Santee OR in Del Mar), tell us your favorite part by sending an email to info@SanteeChamber.com – we would love to hear from you on what makes it special to you, your family or your business.
