Tuesday night you may have seen a large crowd over in Trolley Square, full of emergency vehicles, personnel and more! That's because it was "National Night Out". National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. It enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
The City of Santee's Fire Department was alongside the San Diego Sheriff's Department as they hosted this community event with safety demonstrations, exhibits, and tip from Crime Prevention Specialists on how to keep your families safe! It was a night of true comradery and public education as several other organizations partnered up and joined the fun. For those who missed it, be sure to look for this opportunity next year, and hopefully, many years to come!
