Santee Chamber Weekly Update 02JUL20
Hello Santee! This week I wanted to take a moment to pay tribute to a special family in town: The Clinkenbeards. Mike and Marla Clinkenbeard just celebrated 41 years of marriage this past Tuesday and have been in business together since 1982 (after Marla started the company on her own in 1980). Their staff includes their only son, Adam, and youngest daughter, Madeline. They are licensed, friendly, and ready to help with all lines of insurance and committed to make sure you have the right protection at the right price. Not only is this one of the hardest working families in Santee, they are also huge assets to our community. Mike has been a long time volunteer on our Chamber’s Board of Directors serving in many roles. He has been a personal champion of mine, seeking ways to help me take on more and do it with pride. Maybe it was easy for Mike, having three daughters of his own in my age range, to take on one more… it just seemed like a natural fit to have him in my leadership team here and guide me into bigger shoes he knew I could fill. Through my work relationship with Mike, I have been able to grow into a friendship with his daughter Madeline. Watching Madeline grow professionally and get more involved in the Chamber has been my personal pleasure to watch. Her new wave of thinking (thank you, 20-something year olds – you are often underrated!) combined with her parents’ old-school work ethic makes her a perfect combination, well suited for serving on our Santee Young Professionals committee. Right when I thought she couldn’t impress me more, she became a mother and has found deeper meaning in life and the part she plays in her family business. Taking cues from her mother on how to truly balance out the most important pieces of who she is, she has proven to wear motherhood and professionalism so well. I look forward to their family being here for many more years to come and to see new ways they will stay at the cutting edge of business while giving back to our beloved town. For those needing an agency that can help you, treat you like an extension of their growing family, and who really knows their industry, please consider finding time to reach out to anyone on their staff.
