    SANTEE, CA (September 17, 2020) – The Santee Chamber of Commerce released its list of endorsed candidates for the 2020 General Election. The group of 8 candidates and 3 measures reflects the Chamber's bipartisan commitment to ensuring a strong, pro-business community.
    The Santee Chamber of Commerce is the only business organization within the city of Santee, representing businesses and organizations of every size and sector. We seek recommendations to preserve, protect and foster good government and support individuals who will promote our business and residential communities. No chamber of commerce funds were used in this matter.
    The candidates endorsed are:
    Congressional District 50: Darrell Issa
    State Assembly District 71: Randy Voepel
    San Diego County Board of Supervisors District 2: Joel Anderson
    City of Santee Mayor: John Minto
    City of Santee Council Member District 4: Dustin Trotter
    Padre Dam Municipal Water District Division II: James Sly
    Santee School Board of Education Seat 2: Dianne El-Hajj  
    Santee School Board of Education Seat 4: Elana Levens-Craig
    Local Measures
    N - No: “Shall an ordinance amending the Santee General Plan requiring voter approval for development actions that would increase residential density or intensify land use over that currently permitted by the General Plan be adopted?”
    Q - No: “Shall the measure amending the Santee Municipal Code to require that no person shall serve as an “Elected Official,” defined to include the offices of Mayor and Member of the City Council, for more than twelve years, or three terms, whichever is less, with any portion of term, whether by election or appointment, counting as a full term, be adopted?”
    R - No: “Shall an ordinance amending the Santee Municipal Code to establish a three-term lifetime limit on City Council service and a separate two-term lifetime limit on Mayoral service, be adopted?”
