This past week we celebrated St. Patrick's Day as San Diego County re-entered the red tier in the state's recovery plan. We saw restaurants able to reopen some of their indoor dining, gyms and fitness centers move back indoors, retail operations up their capacity to half of what it was a year ago and finally, some youth sports resume. I listened in on a weekly tele-briefing from the County on Wednesday where health officials predicted us moving into the next phase (yellow tier) around the first or second week of April - here's hoping!
And speaking of indoor dining returning to town, I was thrilled to visit the Oaks Tavern & Kitchen yesterday. They are the newest members of the Chamber and a more-than-welcome addition. Opening in December of 2019, David & Natalie were just getting started when the pandemic hit a few months later. Thankfully they persevered and are a jewel in our community with a family-ran restaurant offering great food, a beautiful environment and service with a smile (yes, I can tell even under the masks!).Be sure to stop in soon and treat yourself; I'll be back soon, too!
